As you know aluminium can be difficult to weld and screw. With that in mind a riveting/tenon technique was developed for the Rivet project. This was also a way to experiment with different variations of visual assembling. The straightforward design is laser cut and hammered by hand, which puts it in a category between craftsmanship and industrial production.
Phantom is a series of voluminous lamps designed by Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen made from a special semi-transparent resin material. The outlines of archetypical chandeliers have served as inspiration for the lamps’ dramatic silhouettes, which in the ivory veil achieve a soft iconic character.
The lamps are made from a steel skeleton, around which the elastic resin is sprayed in closely-spaced threads, as a silkworm forms its cocoon. Tightly wrapped, the lamp’s outline stands out like a mysterious echo of the original shape. The lamps emit an indirect, diffuse light that creates warm and atmospheric illumination.
Phantom is available in three versions of different size and shape.
Upp is a minimalist multifuction collection of accessories designed by Stockholm-based studio Note for Fogia. The ceramic series released last year gets a few new additions in three sizes and four new colours—each glossy. As if choosing combinations weren’t already hard enough…
Use them as decorative table podiums, pop a plant on top, combine a few, use them as fruit bowls, drop your wallet and keys on one when you get home; entirely "Upp to you".
